Cuckoo in the Nest competition for children

Saturday 21st

9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.: The Street Market and entertainment in the High Street / Codicote Road plus events at St. Mary’s Church.
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Art displays at Church House, Parish Rooms, Scout Hut.
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. : Welwyn & District Local History Society displays at the Civic Centre.
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Active Health Open Day, 15 Church Street.
1.30 p.m .: Cricket Match, Welwyn Playing Fields.
6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.: Family Concert at St.Mary’s School

Sunday 22nd

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Welwyn & District Local History Society displays.
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. : Willow Watercolours, Scout Hut, Lockleys Car Park.
12 noon to 3 p.m.: Fun afternoon at Mimram Vet Centre.
2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.: Family Picnic on Singlers Marsh.
6.30 p.m. : Songs of Praise at St. Mary’s Church.

Monday 23rd

7.30 p.m.: Rook’s Tour from the Fire Station.
8.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m .: Sacred Circle Holistic Healing Demonstration, Civic Centre.
8.30 for 9 p.m.: Morris Men at the White Horse.

Tuesday 24th

2.00 p.m.: Country Dancing, St. Mary’s School.
7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. : Wine Tasting Evening, The Pavilion, Ottway Walk.
7.30 p.m.: Display of Photographic Competition Exhibits, Civic Centre.
8 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.: Three short films of Welwyn shown by the Welwyn Film Record Society, 1971, 1984, 1990, Civic Centre large hall..
8 p.m.: “Street Names” - a talk hosted by Welwyn & District Local History Society, Civic Centre small hall.

Wednesday 25th

4.00 p.m.: Story time for up to 10 year olds at the Library.
2.00p.m.  to 4.00 p.m. : Jubilee Club - cards, games - Civic Centre.
6 to 11 p.m.: ”Top Stars” amateur singing contest.
6.30 p.m.: Rounders Match, Welwyn Playing Fields.
7.30 p.m. : Rook’s Tour from the Fire Station.
8 p.m.: Dr. Aubrey’s talk “Birds in Religious Art”, Parish Rooms.
p.m.:Medieval Night at the White Horse, Mill Lane (by ticket only).

Thursday 26th

7.30 p.m.: Display of Photographic Competition Exhibits, Civic Centre.
8 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.: Three short films of Welwyn shown by the Welwyn Film Record Society, 1975, 1981, 1995, Civic Centre large hall.
8 p.m.: Tony Rook’s History talk, Civic Centre small hall.

Friday 27th

1.45 to 3.15 p.m.: Line Dancing in the Civic Centre
7.30 for 8 p.m.
: The 3rd Welwyn Prom in the main hall at the Civic Centre

Saturday 28th

12.50 to 1.10 p.m.: Costume Carnival Parade through the village to Singlers Marsh - this year’s theme is Harry Potter.
1.15 to 5 p.m.: Family Fun Day at Singlers Marsh.
1.30 p.m.: Cricket Match, Welwyn Playing Fields.
5 p.m .: Danesbury Appeal Duck Race (to be confirmed).
5 p.m.: Barbecue at the White Horse, Mill Lane (by ticket only).

Sunday 29th

10.30 a.m.: Bowls Open Morning, Ottway Walk.
2 to 3 p.m.: Kate Rook Memorial Talk “History and Natural History of Mardley Heath” by the Welwyn Natural History Society, Woolmer Green Village Hall, followed by optional 2 hour walk.
2 to 5 p.m.
: Tony Rook’s “Roman Day” at the Roman Baths.
7 to 11 p.m. : Pegasus Quiz Night, Sports & Social Club, Ottway Walk.
also: events at The Steamer, London Road.
